Dai Lou for cheap lok lok in Punggol

It looks like the lok lok trend is staying for a little while longer. Dai Lou, a zi char eatery in Punggol, has expanded their $0.50 lok lok menu to include more items, so you can jio your kakis down for your next supper fix!

New items include fried beancurd skin, broccoli, sweet corn, and chicken fillet. Other popular mainstays are the enoki mushroom, ladyfinger, and frozen meats such as pork balls.

There are four types of sauces to choose from: satay, salted egg yolk, sambal, and Thai chilli. Dip your freshly cooked skewers into your choice of sauce, or mix up your own concoction, for extra flavour.

You can also order a serving of Garlic Beehoon for just $1 to pair with your lok lok. Do note that the lok lok promotion is only valid from 10:30pm to 2am daily.

Dai Lou is located in Marina Country Club, a seven-minute walk from Samudera LRT Station. It’s four stops from Punggol MRT Station on the LRT. The eatery is alfresco and overlooks the bay, so you can you enjoy the view of the yachts while tucking in.

Zi char items are available too, if you want something more substantial. The cheekily named Knuckle Duster ($28) AKA Thai-style pork knuckle is a popular pick, as with the Illegal Gathering (from $14): baby sotong stir-fried with prawn paste sauce. There’s also crab on the menu if you’re looking to splurge.
