Pig trotter bee hoon is one of those dishes that’ll take me back to my childhood days, as my grandmother used to make it all the time. These days, you can find this nostalgic dish at a few under-the-radar stalls including Cheng Ji at Adam Road, and Good Pig Trotter Fried Bee Hoon in Raffles Place. Another place to go to is Bao Kitchen, a newly opened stall tucked in the quiet Bartley industrial estate.

This hawker stall quietly opened its doors on 20 February 2023. They’re not in the most convenient location—the nearest train station is Tai Seng MRT Station, which is still a 13-minute walk away—but their menu looks rather promising.

This Raffles Place Stall Sells Legendary Pig Trotter Fried Bee Hoon

Order the Pig Trotter Bee Hoon ($5): fried bee hoon topped with generous slices of braised pig trotter. There’s also a simplified version of Bee Hoon at $2.80 if you want something less sinful, without all the meat fixings.

If bee hoon is not your thing, order the Pig Trotter Rice ($5), which comes with braised egg and preserved veggies to cut through the greasiness.

If you can’t get enough of it, da bao a Whole Pig Trotter, priced between $15 to $20 depending on the size. Each trotter undergoes a tedious preparation process: it’s scrubbed, parboiled, and then hand-torched, before it’s cooked in a secret braising sauce.

Otherwise, order the Pork Belly Rice ($5), which stars fatty braised pork belly instead.

You can also check out our Shi Nian Pig Leg Rice review for affordable braised pork rice and innards in Old Airport Road Hawker Centre. Get their signature Pig Trotter Rice ($5.90), which comes with their house-made braise and tender meat atop rice. On the side, you get salted veggies and a fried prawn cake to go with your meal.

Otherwise, another under-the-radar stall that sells braised pork is Grandma’s Pig Trotter Rice in Fernvale.
