The Halal Corner has affordable halal pasta and more at Haji Lane
It looks like the Samyang trend is here to stay for a little while longer, with recent-ish creations from Samyang prata to Samyang four-cheese instant noodles. If you’re a fan of these spicy noodles, The Halal Corner also serves up a delish rendition in the form of Samyang Carbonara ($16.90+).
The halal-certified eatery is located on the bustling Haji Lane, a five-minute walk from Bugis MRT Station. They offer Western fare and fusion pasta in generous portions, at value-for-money prices.
Head upstairs for a more spacious seating area, with plenty of nature light streaming in thanks to the ample windows.
Their signature Samyang Carbonara sees linguine tossed in a house-made Samyang-spiked sauce, topped with crispy deep-fried chicken.
The chicken cutlet is tender and juicy, lightly coated in a batter that’s crispy and well-seasoned.
Pair the meat and pasta with the spicy and creamy carbonara sauce for an uber-savoury and satisfying meal.
If the spice gets too much, quell your thirst with the Tropical Bandung Rosary ($5.50+): rose bandung with whipped cream.
Don’t miss the Carbonara Mr John ($10+), a zhnged-up version of roti john drenched in The Halal Corner’s signature carbonara sauce.
You get a huge French loaf stuffed to the brim with sweet caramelised onions and beef slices.
This monster of a sandwich is cut up into more manageable portions before serving, so you can share the calories and feel less jelak.
You can also fill up on other carby mains and fusion pasta dishes here, including Sambal Balado pasta ($15.90+) and Spicy Garlic Butter ($16.90+).
