Reasonably priced at $8 for an extremely generous portion of egg and oyster, the soft and fluffy mix of cornstarch batter with crispy eggs and juicy oysters, this plate is a must-have at Newton Food Centre!

If you’re on the hunt for tasty rolls stuffed with a variety of yummy ingredients, you have to drop by Bee Heng Satay Popiah. Made fresh daily following a recipe that has been passed down since 1930, the Hokkien Popiah Rolls ($4.60 for 2 rolls) consists of radish, eggs, and crunchy bean sprouts. The highlight of the dish is definitely the drizzle of chilli that provided a slightly fiery but absolutely delicious kick.
Don’t forget to wrap up your meal with a popiah roll or two here whenever you drop by Newton Food Centre!
3. Bangkok Express (#01-04)
Fans of Thai cuisine have to try their signature Thai classics. With dishes starting at only $5, diners can expect to find Thai Fried Tung Hoon, Pineapple Rice and Olive Fried Rice here. The crowd favourite Pad Thai ($5) is a stir-fried noodle dish that is served heaped with a smattering of ingredients including prawns, beansprouts, cuttlefish and more.
A great place to enjoy affordable yet satisfying one-dish meals, do drop by Bangkok Express for an authentic taste of Thailand.
