Yusheng delivery this Chinese New Year

The CNY festivities this year will continue to be muted, with the five-person gathering rules not seeing any relaxation any time soon. No matter, because wealth, abundance, and good health are still blessings we wish for in the year ahead. Get a headstart on the celebrations with a different yusheng than the usual, with our list of 10 yusheng to order this CNY. Many of these offer delivery too!

1. umisushi

Ring in the Year of the Rabbit with the CNY offerings from umisushi! If you’re celebrating at home, lo hei with the uber-cute umi Huat Huat Yu Sheng ($108.88), beautifully arranged in the shape of a rabbit. Alternatively, get the umi Da Ji Yu Sheng ($98.88), arranged to look like the Chinese word 吉 (ji), signifying good luck and fortune. Both yushengs come with 18 pieces of fresh Norwegian salmon slices. For smaller parties of six to eight, order the medium-sized umi Prosperity Yu Sheng ($52.88). If you’re hosting up to 12 people, get the large version ($62.88) instead. All yushengs feature the full works: freshly shredded veggies, fresh Norwegian salmon slices, a refreshing plum dressing, as well as pok chui AKA crispy crackers. 

While you’re at it, go all out and treat the fam with the Supreme Majestic Sushi Platter ($68.88),  a 48-piece set of sushi favourites such as lobster salad maki roll and Norwegian salmon sushi. Sets are also available, should you wish to opt for a fuss-free CNY reunion dinner.

You can pre-order at umisushi’s retail stores, their website, or via GrabFood and foodpanda (selected items only), with the option of self-collection or delivery from now till 5 February. From 21 January to 24 January, the minimum order is $60 with a delivery fee of $20.  Do also note that festive prices for all dishes and sets apply for this specific timeframe. For 28 January and 29 January, 4 February and 5 February, the minimum order is $30 with a delivery fee of $12. For all other dates, there is a minimum order of $30 with a delivery fee of $8.

2. Red House Seafood

The Prosperity Salmon & Ice Plant Yu Sheng at Red House Seafood comes in two sizes: $58+, and $98+, which are good to serve four to six, and eight to 10 persons respectively. There’s also an abalone version priced from $98+. Get them for takeaway from now till 5 February 2023 when you call their outlets at either The Esplanade or Grand Copthorne Waterfront.

Unlike your usual yusheng, their rendition comes with hand-shredded turnip, deep-fried yam, and pomegranate seeds, along with ice plant and other traditional ingredients. Check out their full CNY 2023 menu here!

3. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore

4. Paradox Singapore Merchant Court at Clarke Quay

Usher in the Year of the Rabbit with takeaway specials from Paradox Singapore Merchant Court at Clarke Quay, starring two festive takeaway sets: Prosperity Bunny Bundle ($468) and Fortune Bunny Bundle ($588). Suitable for family gatherings of eight to 10 people, the bundles feature a spread of CNY must-haves, including lobster yusheng, laksa grouper, and abalone clay pot rice.

Toss to good fortune with the Prosperity Yu Sheng ($68), featuring thick smoked salmon slices served on a bed of shredded carrots and white radish, drizzled with a zesty yuzu chia seed dressing. For something heartier, there’s the lavish Fortune Yu Sheng ($168), which comes with added chunky Australian rock lobster slices and assorted fruit balls.

Order the Chinese New Year takeaway bundles or a la carte yu sheng here from 1 January to 29 January. You can collect your orders from 13 January to 5 February, and do allow a preparation period of five days from the date of order.

5.  Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

Award-winning Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant is well-known for their Cantonese delicacies and dim sum. To celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year, they have released the Japanese Unagi Yu Sheng with Roselle Sauce ($98/$138), starring grilled Japanese unagi drizzled with their house-made roselle sauce, which is said to boast a sweet, floral scent.

Other yusheng variations they offer include their best-selling Xin’s Signature Salmon Yu Sheng ($88/$108), Sliced 2-head Abalone Yu Sheng ($108/$178) and Baby Abalone Yu Sheng ($88/$108). If you’d like, you can also have additional Salmon ($19.80), Baby Abalone ($24) and Crackers ($3.80) in your yusheng. Otherwise, they have a meatless optionVegetarian Abalone Yu Sheng ($48/$78).

6. Mimi 秘密

Indulge in Mimi Prosperity Garden Salad Yu Sheng with Salmon ($68+/88+) at modern Chinese restaurant Mimi 秘密 at The Riverhouse, Clarke Quay. The smaller portion feeds four, while the bigger size is suitable for parties of eight. The highlight of this particular yusheng is Mimi’s house-smoked chicken bak kwa and a refreshing dressing of Yuzu Sesame, which makes for an appetite-whetting, tangy addition.

That’s not all, because each order also comes with crispy fish skin and candied walnut for crunch! Place your orders online here, and enjoy free delivery for orders greater than $120. Otherwise, delivery fees are between $8 to $15, based on distance from the restaurant, or you could opt for self pick-up.

7. Min Jiang

Min Jiang at Goodwood Park Hotel has been around since 1982, and they are pulling out all the stops this year with their all-new Five Blessings ‘Lo Hei’ ($298+). This is the yusheng to order if you’re looking to splurge—it’s bedecked with lobster, Hokkaido scallops, six-head abalone, and raw salmon, amongst others, while the plum sauce is spiked with strawberry jam, calamansi juice, and ginger flower buds for added zing.

That’s not the only option: the more run-of-the-mill Traditional Yu Sheng – Raw Salmon is priced at $98+/$138+.

Advance orders should be placed on their Festive Ordering page at least five days in advance. Do note that there’s a $3 delivery surcharge between 21 January and 5 February 2023, on top of a $22+ delivery fee with a minimum order of $93.45+ after discount. Delivery is free for orders greater than $747.66+ after discount. If not, you can opt for self-pick-up at Goodwood Park.

8. Greenwood Fish Market

Build your own yusheng at Greenwood Fish Market, starting with a base of Salmon Yu Sheng ($98), that comes with 200g of salmon sashimi. Then, get creative with up to 10 different add-ons, including Cooked Boston Lobster ($45), Swordfish Belly Sashimi ($19), Hokkaido Scallop Sashimi ($36), and even Bluefin Chutoro ($28) or Bluefin Otoro ($38)! Each yusheng feeds four to six, and is livened up with a plum-lime dressing that’s oh-so-scrumptious.

Get your orders through their online platform, with options for islandwide delivery, charged at $10 a location, and self-pick-up from Bukit Timah or Quayside Isle. Do note that delivery slots are running out, so get your orders in ASAP.

9. Din Tai Fung

Xiao long bao specialist Din Tai Fung fares no less deliciously with their Prosperity Smoked Salmon Yu Sheng ($53.80++), which comes with slices of Norwegian smoked salmon. They’ve also got a meatless option—Prosperity Vegetarian Yu Sheng ($45.80++). Both versions, good for four to six diners, are accompanied by a delicate house-made plum sauce that’s got just the right touch of sweetness and tang, and Crispy Yam Strips, unlike your usual crackers.

10. Sofitel City Centre

If you’re looking to balance out the feasting, consider the Healthy Yu Sheng ($128+) from Sofitel City Centre. This yusheng is a medley of seasonal fruits, including peaches, dragonfruit, strawberries, and more, apart from your usual suspects. Choose between a traditional plum dressing, or an appetising yuzu sauce, with which to drizzle over the yusheng.

Head to their Oddle page to place your orders, available for pick-up and delivery from 16 January to 5 February 2023. There’s a minimum purchase of $50 for delivery, which is chargeable at $18.
