A humble hawker stall at Bedok, Yummy serves an array of unique sets consisting of Yong Tau Foo, chee cheong fun, and rice dumplings, more commonly known as Zongzi. Across the various sets, the yong tau foo ingredients and chee cheong fun are relatively fixed, with the choice of dumplings being the main difference.

Choose from dumplings like your Traditional Nonya, Salted Egg Chestnut Pork, Chestnut Pork, and Red Bean Prok Dumpling. Alternatively, you can also opt for sets with their steamed Carrot Cake, Yam Cake, and Pumpkin Cake in place of the rice dumpling.
Unique And Hearty Sets Served

We decided to go with Yummy’s Set C ($4.60), consisting of their Yong Tau Food, Chee Cheong Fun, and Chestnut Park Dumpling. The two yong tau foo ingredients served are pre-set, consisting of fried beancurd skin and fish paste wrapped in beancurd skin. The fried beancurd is incredibly crispy and light, giving a nice textural contrast to the other ingredients. As for the fish paste, it is well-seasoned and has a pleasant chewiness to it.

Leaning slightly towards the chewier side, the chee cheong fun still has a good amount of silkiness. Additionally, it has the perfect amount of thickness for a satisfying bite. Doused in your classic sweet sauce and chilli, it gives a good balance of flavours with the chilli adding a delightful cake to each bite as well.

Lastly, we have the traditional rice dumpling that you certainly don’t find very often at hawker centres nowadays. The glutinous rice is moist and chewy, with the pork and chestnut elevating it with its flavours and textures. As the plate is doused with the chee cheong fun sauce, feel free to pair it with your dumpling for added sweetness and spice.
