Tina’s Cafe has orh nee butter toast in Everton Park

Everton Park is one of my favourite places when I need a quiet me-day. When I’m in the area, I usually enjoy a good, loaded sando from Hello Arigato, or a hearty bowl of sukiyaki beef don at Cafe Wabi Sabi. So after hearing that there was a new kid on the block to check out, my curiosity was piqued. Tina’s Cafe is an old-school cafe selling a variety of local favourites, with all items priced under $15.

Their Nanyang Breakfast Sets comprise five variations and of the lot, the Orh Nee Butter Toast Set ($6.50) is a must-get. This comes with two butter toasts packed with creamy yam paste, alongside soft-boiled eggs and a choice of a hot kopi or teh. For something a little different, we recommend the French Toast with Kaya ($6.50) instead.

You can expect plenty of cakes and pastries here, including a crispy Egg Tart ($2.80) that we think will make for a good pick-me-up snack when paired with a cup of their Yuan Yang (from $1.80) or Milo (from $1.80).

There are also old-school waffles at Tina’s Cafe, where you can choose from five different spreads for your pandan waffles. A plain waffle is priced at $2.10, while the orh nee costs $2.60.

If you’d like something more filling, browse their All-Day Breakfast menu with classics such as Eggs with Bacon ($9.60) and Tina’s Breakfast Platter ($14.80). The former features bacon, hashbrowns, a side of mixed greens, and a choice between scrambled and sunny-side-up, while the latter sees the same ingredients plus a chicken sausage, ham, baked beans, and toasted bread.

You can also indulge in their traditional cakes with the likes of Lychee Rose Slice ($8.90), Ondeh Ondeh Slice ($8.90), and Butter Cake ($3). FYI, Tina’s Cafe offers some of these cakes as a whole!

For easy access, the newly opened cafe is a five-minute walk from Outram Park MRT Station.
