Westies now have another spot to makan and jalan jalan, thanks to the opening of Plantation Plaza, Tengah’s latest mall. While not all stores have officially opened, important amenities including a Koufu food court and Giant supermarket have already been launched at the five-storey shopping centre.

Danlao, a homegrown hawker stall popular for its scrambled egg rice bowls, makes an appearance at Koufu. Their signature Chicken Cutlet ($7) is a must-try; this stars a crispy chicken cutlet atop a soft and silky omelette, lightly drizzled in soya sauce. If you prefer something lighter, go for their Tomato ($5.50) or Prawn ($8) rice bowls instead!

Besides Danlao, we also spotted stalls selling yong tau foo, Thai dishes, and Korean cuisine at the food court.

Everyone’s favourite fast food chain McDonald’s has also launched at Level 1 of the mall. Great news for supper addicts: this outlet opens till 12am every day! Grab your favourite McSpicy Extra Value Meal (from $8.60), and get a side of the Spicy McNuggets while they’re still on the menu.

FYI: KFC and Pizza Hut are also on the same level!

Fans of Lau Wang Claypot Delights will be happy to know that the popular chain’s latest branch has opened at Level 2 of Plantation Plaza. Must-orders include Sesame Oil Chicken (from $6.80++), Sambal Seafood ($12.50++), and Sliced Fish Herbal Soup ($8++).

That’s not all: Giant Supermarket, the first and only supermarket in the Tengah estate, has also opened. Grab your essentials and groceries here!

Most of the shops will open by the fourth quarter of 2024, so we’ll update this article when we get more information.

Currently, the nearest train station from Plantation Plaza is Bukit Gomak MRT Station, which is still a 10-minute bus ride away. Residents can look forward to the upcoming Tengah Plantation MRT station on the Jurong Region Line, which is set to open in 2029.
