Located strategically at the intersection of three MRT lines, Plaza Singapura is a default option for when my friends and I can’t decide where to meet and eat. If you have the same problem as I do, here are 15 Plaza Singapura food places to save you the trouble of thinking about where to eat during your next hangout.

1. Akimitsu

Akimitsu offers value-for-money tempura dons, AKA tendon. Boasting a long and rich history that stretches five generations, this family recipe is made affordable at Plaza Singapura. It is little wonder why there is always a long queue outside of the store. Try their Signature Tendon ($14.90++), which gets you a large variety of fried prawn, fish, egg, seaweed, and vegetable tempura.

Noodle lovers, don’t fret; there is also an option of Udon With Soft Shell Crab ($14.90++) that combines thick chewy noodles with savoury seafood. For the full Japanese experience, order a side of Tempura Maki ($5.90++), which features their signature tempura over sushi rice rolls.

2. Haidilao

For those looking to get pampered even while standing in line, pay a visit to the ever-popular Haidilao. Known for their customer service and birthday celebrations, a visit here definitely makes for an enjoyable experience. Choose your choice of Soup Base from favourites such as tomato hot pot or Sichuan spicy hot pot and go all out on their wide selection of sides such as their Handmade Meatballs and Fish Roe Stuffed Beancurd.

3. Tamoya Udon

Among the best udon restaurants in Singapore is award-winning Tamoya Udon. For their best-seller Sanuki Beef Onsen Egg Udon ($12.70+), the chef cracks a Japanese onsen egg over cooked slices of beef for the extra silkiness.

For lovers of pork broth, the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Udon ($12.30+) comes with a black garlic sauce that is made in-house. Top up your dishes with a selection of Tempura (from $1.30+), which includes their standard sides like Shiitake Mushroom or Prawn Tempura.

4. Co Chung

Started by a retired nurse, Co Chung is the product of her aspirations to open an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. You can’t claim to be eating Vietnamese food without some Pho Beef Soup ($14.90+) that comes with a light yet not bland beef broth. If you are not a fan of noodles, they also have Com Tam ($14.90+), which features a unique egg meatloaf that contains meat and wood ear mushrooms.

5. Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice

Branching out from Bangkok, the award-winning Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice has one of its four local outlets in Plaza Singapura. A plate of their Chicken Rice ($5.50++), served similar to the way they do in Bangkok, contains poached chicken breast and slices of cucumber. There is also an option to top up to $6.50++ for chicken thigh. If you are on a higher budget, get the Steamed Sea Bass with Chilli, Lime and Garlic ($29.90++), served with a whole sea bass dressed in Thai-style sour and spicy flavours.

6. Five Guys

Five Guys opened its Singapore flagship store at Plaza Singapura in 2019, offering a range of their popular burgers. Chomp down on Bacon-Cheeseburger ($18.50), which features pieces of applewood bacon inside their classic Cheeseburger ($16.50). For those not looking for a burger, they also have a Grilled Cheese Sandwich ($9.50) that contains green pepper, American cheese, and mushrooms for an array of flavours.

Finally, wash down your meal with a Five Guys Shake ($11). An order allows for any number of free mix-ins. These include peanut butter, coffee and bacon among many others.

7. CoCo ICHIBANYA Singapore

CoCo ICHIBANYA is known for their Japanese-style curry. Try their Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry Rice ($18.50++), which contains a breaded pork cutlet that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Alternatively, they have other protein options such as the Fried Salmon Omelette Curry Rice ($20++). The curry also comes with options of five levels of spice so you can challenge your friends to a spice tolerance showdown.

8. Bizen Okayama Wagyu & Salad Bar

9. Cajun On Wheels

The halal-certified Cajun On Wheels is one of the best seafood bucket restaurants in Singapore. For a quick affordable seafood fix, try their Mussels Stew ($29.50+) which feeds up to two. It contains mussels cooked in a spicy tomato stew base, three pieces of sweet corn, four pieces of baby potatoes, and your choice of sauce.

If you are going for a more Dancing Crab-esqe experience, they also have the Poseidon Bucket ($108+) which makes you feel like a king with their two 400g Sri Lankan crabs, 300g of prawns, 300g of blue mussels, 400g of white clams, sweet corn, baby potatoes and a sauce of your choice. Pair your meal with their signature sides: Clam Chowder ($7+), Fried Squid ($8.50+), and Chicken Spam Fries ($6+).

10. FuFu Pot

Those who don’t like sharing hotpot can embrace FuFu Pot, a new solo hotpot restaurant. The broth here comes in a medley of Asian inspired flavours, from Army Stew ($19++) to Stinky Tofu ($26++). They also have a lunch set from $14++ which lets you pick a soup base, a choice of protein, a carbohydrate, and other ingredients.

11. Typhoon Cafe

Claiming to bring “the taste of Taiwan” to you, Typhoon Cafe sells an IG-worthy Souffle Stack ($16.80++) that makes for the perfect jiggly IG boomerang.

If you are here for the authentic Taiwan experience, try the vinegary Taiwanese Oyster Mee Sua ($9.90++), where the accompanying proteins such as pig intestine and oyster come crispy fried.

They also seek to incorporate local flavours in their menu with items such as the White Rabbit Souffle Stackers with White Rabbit Milk Pudding and Vanilla Ice Cream ($16.80++), which infuses our well-loved local candy, White Rabbit, with the restaurant’s signature souffle pancakes.

12. Muji Cafe

There are three Muji Cafe outlets in Singapore—one of them being in Plaza Singapura. This particular outlet can house almost 100 people at a time, which means you don’t have to worry too much about being stuck in the queue. Muji Cafe is known for their deli sets, which allows you to choose from a seasonal selection of hot or cold deli dishes, a choice of white rice, grain rice, or bread, and lastly, miso or carrot cumin soup.

The sets start from $13.80+ and you can get one hot and one cold deli dish. For something more filling, we recommend three ($15.80+) or four ($19.80+) deli set instead. To go with your set meal, get the Soy-Sansho French Fries ($6.90+) that’s seasoned with shoyu, parmesan, and sansho seasoning—a great snack to share with friends alongside your meal.

Muji Cafe Reopens At Plaza Singapura With Bigger Dining Space And New Festive Menu

13. Eat Pizza

Korean-famous pizza chain Eat Pizza opened their third outlet at Plaza Singapura in April 2024 following the success of their previous two outlets at Paya Lebar Quarter and 313 Somerset. If this is your first time visiting Eat Pizza, go for the classic Pepperoni ($6.50) or the Aloha ($6.90). The latter comprises turkey bacon, pineapple, white sauce, and cream cheese mouse.

Else, try the special Hot Spicy Chicken ($7.90) or the flavour created in collaboration with local burger eatery, NBCB: the Mentaiko Crispy Potato Bacon (price TBD). You can zhng your pizzas up with four outlet-exclusive sauces: Mentaiko Mayo, Honey Mustard, Korean Hot Sauce, and Tabasco ($0.80 each).

14. Mamma Mia Trattoria E Caffè

Mamma Mia Trattoria E Caffè is a casual restaurant that serves up Muslim-friendly Italian cuisine with the likes of handcrafted pastas: Spaghetti Carbonara with Turkey Strips and Chicken ($13.90++) and Tortigiloni Cacio E Pepe ($8.90++) are some popular examples.

The dishes are not just tasty, but are also affordably priced without having to break the bank. The well-loved joint also has several other outlets across the country!

15. CHAGEE

For the uninitiated, CHAGEE is a popular Chinese tea brand that recently made their long-awaited return to our shores after their departure early 2024. They recently opened their third outlet at Plaza Singapura, in addition to their first outlet at Orchard Gateway.

Expect fan favourites such as the Jasmine Green Milk Tea ($4.90) and Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea ($4.90), along with the more interesting Da Hong Pao Snow Cap Milk Tea ($6.90). The outlet also sees a brand new feature: a Tea on Tap area, where you get to enjoy your favourite drinks all bottled up for you to bring home.
