Big Dot Chicken has affordable fried chicken at Chinatown Complex

If I told you that you could get a piece of juicy fried chicken that’s comparable to brands such as KFC for just $1.50, would you believe me? Well, you should, because you’ll be able to find it at Big Dot Chicken, a stall located in Chinatown Complex Market and Food Centre

Besides being able to get a piece of Chicken Wing for just $1.50, Big Dot Chicken also offers other chicken parts such as Drumstick and Thigh for $2 and $2.50 respectively.

There are also combo meals available—Combo A ($4) consists of thigh meat, Combo B ($4) comes with a drumstick and wing, and Combo C ($6) comprises one thigh meat and one drumstick. All three sets come with a serving of fries.

You can also choose between the original or spicy version for your chicken, both of which are priced the same.

Given that this was only $1.50, the chicken wing was actually quite sizeable. Seasoning-wise, it did taste slightly similar to KFC’s fried chicken—crispy and savoury, with a light peppery flavour. The skin was well-marinated and flavourful, although the meat was a tad bit dry.

For something juicier, we recommend the chicken thigh. As you’d expect, it was more succulent and tender compared to the chicken wing.

Big Dot Chicken also has old-school Waffles ($1) and Traditional Ice Cream ($1.50) if you’re craving desserts after your meal!

Even though Big Dot Chicken is located at quite a secluded corner of Chinatown Complex Market and Food Centre, the stall sees long queues during peak hours! Do head down early to try it before they run out for the day!
