Hot on the heels of the croissant cookie and smashed croissant hype trains is yet another potentially viral trend: the “Macroissant”. A hybrid between the macaron and croissant, this new pastry is said to have been created by Nasty Cookie, an OG thick cookie brand in Singapore.

The new pastry, said to be the first in Singapore, is essentially a cross between a macaron and a croissant: think flaky laminated pastry topped with a crackly macaron shell, filled with a creamy middle.

You can try them only at the Nasty Cookie website from 21 June onwards. As with most food trends, we’re not sure how long these pastries will be available until, so make sure you get them stat!

There are three flavours available: Straight Up Vanilla, shown in the photo above, Fruity Queen, and Double Trouble. Each piece is priced at $8.50. The first flavour is inspired by vanilla ice cream, and comes with a blue-swirled topping.

Those who love cookies and cream can try the Double Trouble Macroissant, filled with a generous amount of Oreo-spiked cream.

The most colourful option is Fruity Queen, a pastel-toned, blue-and-pink pastry that’s orange and raspberry flavoured. This pretty Macroissant flavour is launched in celebration of Pride Month.
