Sometimes the struggle isn’t what to eat, but rather where to eat. As Singapore is such an amazing treasure trove of scrumptious food, it’s no surprise there are several stalls around Singapore that are famous for the same dish. Take Wanton Noodles for example, with popular stalls like Chef Kin HK, Wen Kang Ji, and Kok Kee Wanton Noodles, you’ll definitely be spoilt for choice. Despite the many choices, there’s no doubt you’ll soon be adding Fei Fei Roasted Noodle to your list. This Michelin-Bib Gourmand stall is definitely a must-try!

Fei Fei Roasted Noodle has been a family-run business for more than 40 years, with Tommy and his wife still running the stall to this day. They are renowned for their delectable roasted meat which they still roast over a charcoal fire daily. Previously selling roast pork which was well-loved by customers, Tommy decided to stick to roast duck and char siew due to his age catching up. His son now helps out with the cooking and roasting as well.

Preparation starts as early as 3am every morning, roasting the meat to utter perfection. Don’t be surprised to find them sold out even before noon. Using the armpit of the pig – the part between the shoulder and belly, every slice of char siew gives you the perfect marbling with the most beautiful char.
Must-Try Wanton Noodles!
What makes a good bowl of Wanton Noodles is definitely the noodles, char siew, and wanton which Fei Fei has executed to perfection. Their Wanton Noodles ($4.50) are tossed in their secret gravy sauce, with hae bi chilli and green chillis added on the side.
Be sure to mix everything together for an amazing burst of flavours! There is a hint of sweetness from the sauce, while the house-made hae bi chilli adds a kick of spice and umami to the noodles. Furthermore, the green chillis bring a layer of acidity to balance out the flavours.

The highlight of the dish, no doubt has to be the heavenly char siew. Each slice is beautifully caramelized and charred, with the perfect fat-to-lean ratio which simply melts in your mouth. Juicy and tender as well, the sweet honey glaze coating the exterior adds the right amount of sweetness that balances out the savouriness of the char siew.
Let’s not forget about the wantons because they’re pretty tasty too. Packed with a mix of pork and shrimp, the wantons are well-seasoned and have the distinct taste of dried sole fish, adding umami to each bite. A worthy Michelin Bib Gourmand dish indeed!
