When it comes to burgers hor, the classic American version is usually the one that comes to mind right? However, with the incredible diversity of cuisines we have in Singapore, it’s no surprise to find unique and sedap fusions. Mahmud’s Tandoor At Curbside Crafters

Helmed by husband-and-wife duo Siraj and Syirah, Mahmud’s Tandoor first started as a home-based business selling their unique Tandoori burgers and tasty chicken wings. As their popularity boomed until big big, they expanded by opening a booth at Artbox Singapore before setting up their current brick-and-mortar stall at Curbside Crafters in Bugis. Power sia!

Eh fun fact, Siraj was previously working at Singapore’s digital content company SGAG while Syirah was a primary school special needs teacher. Pursuing their dreams, they made a garang move of quitting their jobs to run Mahmud’s Tandoor full-time. So brave… so brave.

As their current stall space like small only, the Indian-Pakistani couple uses a convection oven and deep fryer instead of the traditional tandoor (clay oven) to cook their meats. Eh wait, before anyone make noise ah, this results in juicier and more tender meat hor.

Though available for dine-in, there are only around 25 seats, with makeshift tables spread across a back alley outside, inside Cursibe Crafters, and upstairs as well. Small, but still cozy lah.

Other sides are available as well like their Wing Drum Hota Hai ($8.50) featuring six tandoori-spiced mid-joint wings and drumlets.

To complete the American-Asian fusion experience some more, slushies are offered in local flavours like their popular Chai Peng Slush ($5) and Bandung Slush ($5).
