For the best of both worlds, you can order the Duck Rice Platter ($6) to enjoy some braised pork belly as well. Other ingredients in the platter include tau pork and braised egg, with a plate of braised rice, and a bowl of soup to complete your scrumptious meal. Additionally, you can even add pork skin for that extra collagen!

The highlight of the dish is no doubt the braised duck. Just take one bite, and you’ll instantly know why people are willing to queue up for this. Their duck is juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour in each bite. Additionally, it sitting in the pool of dark sauce gives it a mild sweetness that complements its savouriness, creating a perfect harmony of flavours.
For those with smaller appetites, you can simply opt for the Braised Duck Rice, served at only $3.50. It’s definitely rare to find duck rice at this price point nowadays, helping MIng Fa stand out from the rest.

What’s unique about Ming Fa is that they serve two types of chilli: Sambal Chilli and Garlic Chilli. Starting with the more popular one out of the two, Ming Fa’s sambal chilli comes packed with a ton of ikan bilis, something you don’t usually find at other stalls. The sambal is sweet and gives the perfect kick of spice to lift the dish. The ikan bilis gives an added umami to the sambal and you can even taste a hint of the fish oil. Pair the sambal, duck and rice for the most incredible bite!
For the garlic chilli, you would normally pair it with chicken rice but it makes a good pairing with the duck rice here. Giving a good spicy kick with each bite, this chilli will hit the spot for spice lovers.
