Popular for its powerful broth, Yanji Seafood is a 40-year-old family brand that prides itself on its intense mix of scallops, ham, pork ribs, and old hen that’s slow-cooked for up to six hours. What makes the broth so flavourful is the addition of minced pork, dried mushroom, and dried sole fish!

Diners at their latest Bedok outlet can look forward to a total of six yummy dishes on the menu. There’s the Premium Seafood Soup ($32), Crayfish Seafood Soup with Dory, Batang or Red Grouper ($14, S$16, S$18), Red Grouper Seafood Soup ($14), Batang Seafood Soup ($12), Dory Seafood Soup ($7.50 for small, $9.50 for medium) and Deep Fried Prawn / Ngoh Hiang ($8).

The star of the show here is the Dory Seafood Soup. Served with juicy prawns and generous minced meat chunks, the fresh dory has a melt-in-your-mouth texture that hits all the right notes.
