The French American Bakery has marshmallow hot chocolate at Haji Lane
Located along the ever-trendy Haji Lane, The French American Bakery is known for its tantalising collection of French and American-style bakes, such as cakes, cookies, pastries and more. Though they’ve already achieved a good level of popularity, the launch of their torched marshmallow hot chocolate and the viral TikToks it generated thrust the bakery into the spotlight yet again.
Once you’ve gotten your hands on the Hot Chocolate with Torched Marshmallow Fluff ($8), it makes perfect sense why it’s generated so much buzz.
The rings of fluffy and well-caramelised marshmallows that crown the cup is a sight to behold, and the hot chocolate drink beneath it is rich and pleasantly sweet, especially when mixed together with the marshmallow.
You may have noticed the rather sizable Cinnamon Bun ($5.60) in the first image of this article. That’s no optical illusion—it really is immense, at least when compared to your average cinnamon roll. Those golden-brown, pillowy swirls are generously laced with sweet and aromatic cinnamon, making every bite oh-so-satisfying.
While you’re there, we recommend trying the Creme Brulee ($6.80), too. With smooth, velvety custard beneath a caramelised sugar topping, this delightful mix of textures and flavours will be a hit for any fan of sweet treats.
There are plenty more snacks to check out at The French American Bakery, including croissants, madeleines, and kouign-amann, so make sure you drop by the next time you’re in the area!
