Pastago opens new outlet in NUS UTown

Westies may be disappointed following the news of Pastago’s J Cube outlet closure, but when one door closes, another opens—the brand has now set up shop at Fine Food, in NUS UTown!

The pasta kiosk shot to popularity in late 2022 with their affordable fresh pasta that’s made in-house. Pastago is also halal-certified, which means more pasta lovers can enjoy their delicious offerings.

You can expect familiar favourites at the new UTown location, including their signature aglio olio, hearty beef bolognese, and truffle cream pasta.

Ordering is a breeze: select your desired pasta flavour and customise with add-ons such as smoked salmon or smoked duck. Next, pick your preferred pasta type from options such as Fettuccine, Pappardelle, or the less-seen Mafalde and Campanelle. These are all made fresh daily on-site.

For those on a budget, we recommend getting their Aglio e Olio ($4.90), comprising a flavourful plate of olive oil, garlic, and chilli flakes. You can also toss in some grilled chicken (+$2) or seared prawns (+$2) for a more filling meal.

Pastago’s Carbonara ($6.90) adheres to the traditional method, crafting that luscious creaminess with eggs and cheese. For something more unique, opt for the Smoked Duck Carbonara ($9.40), which sees the pasta topped with succulent smoked duck in place of the usual bacon bits.

If you love tomato-based pasta, the Beef Bolognese with Sous Vide Egg ($8.90) is a must-try, featuring long Pappardelle sheets coated in a meaty house-made ragu sauce.

Since our last visit, Pastago has introduced new additions to their menu, featuring new pasta flavours such as Laksa Goreng ($7.90) and Chilli Crab ($7.90). The latter stars a piquant sauce that’s made with lime leaves, resulting in a fragrant blend of spicy, sweet, and tangy.
