Operating under FairPrice Group Food Services, the two-storey hawker centre at 2 Senja Close is spacious with high ceilings for good ventilation. It also features a roof garden, a whopping 580 seats, and an 82-lot car park.

Here’s another reason to drop by even if you’re not a Bukit Panjang resident: the food is said to be super affordable. The new hawker centre requires food stalls to offer at least one main dish priced between $2.80 and $3.50! As part of the Rice Garden Community programme—an outreach programme designed for lower-income diners—Muslim ComCare cardholders visiting Warong Rice Garden can also enjoy Nasi Campur from as low as $2.

Some headlining hawkers to check out include Heng Gi Goose & Duck Rice, a hawker stall from Tekka Centre that has been featured on the Michelin Guide Boasting a history of over 60 years, they’re touted as one of Singapore’s most famous Teochew-style braised duck stalls, with set meals priced at just $3.50.

There’s also Shi Hui Yian, famed for their collagen-rich hor fun and herbal braising sauce. Originally from Mei Ling Street Food Centre, the stall has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for five years consecutively. They offer hearty bowls of Braised Duck Hor Fun for $6. Another popular item on the menu is the Blissful Set ($6.90)—wok hei-kissed hor fun packed with a generous amount of roasted duck and chicken slices.

Pin Wei Chee Cheong Fun is another noteworthy mention, offering Hong Kong-style chee cheong fun that sports a thinner skin. The chee cheong fun here is made from scratch and comes in four variations: Plain ($2.70), Prawn ($3.50), Char Siew ($4.50), and Scallops ($5.50).

The list of heritage hawkers includes Amoy Street Lor Mee, known for their old-school fried batang lor mee, and Project Penyek, the popular stall from ABC Brickworks Food Centre known for their $5.50 nasi ayam penyet and XXL fried Seafood Platter ($49.90).

Senja Hawker Centre also features seven halal-certified stalls including Mohamed Ayaan Rojak, a second-generation hawker with a 50-year-old rojak recipe, and Haji Subuhani Family Stall, an Indian-Muslim eatery offering nasi goreng, mee goreng, and kambing soup.
