JB Dai Tao Lala Pot from Johor Bahru opens in Singapore
ICYMI: JB Dai Tao Lala Pot, a famous eatery from Johor Bahru, has landed in Singapore! The popular JB stall is known for their claypot lala, served in a bubbling pot over charcoal.

The casual eatery is located at The Punggol Settlement, within the premises of House of Seafood. It’s a 15-minute walk from Punggol Point LRT Station, or a 20-minute bus ride from Punggol MRT Station.
You can look forward to their famous claypot lala here; go straight for the Dai Tao Signature Soup ($28), where you get a rich broth full of sweet and briny clams. When we tried their Mount Austin outlet earlier this year, this soup was priced at RM38+/~S$10.82+ instead. But since there’s no need to cross the border just for your claypot lala fix, this significant price jump may be worth it to some—especially if you’re a hardcore fan of the eatery.
Get Affordable Claypot Lala With Over 60 Sides In JB Mount Austin
Here’s how it works: place your order, then the staff will prep the claypot before you, adding ingredients such as ginger, raw and fried garlic, and Shaoxing wine. Then, the ingredients will be flambeed and a seafood-forward broth will be added to the mix, resulting in a fragrant borth that’s gingery, accompanied by sweet and plump clams.
If you want something different, there are two other soups to choose from: Pork Stomach Soup with White Peppercorns ($28) and Double Boil Coconut Soup ($28).
There are over 50 ingredients to pick from, including fresh seafood, veggies, and carbs. Seafood lovers can splurge on Live Crab (seasonal price), Red Grouper Fish ($12), and Hokkaido Scallops ($4.80), while meat eaters will enjoy the range here: think Pork Shoulder Slice ($4), Australian Beef Slice ($4.80) and more.
