Unfortunately, the popular Tiong Bahru Yi Sheng Fried Hokkien Mee at ABC Brickworks has officially closed due to the owner, Mr Toh Seng Wang’s retirement.

One of the more popular stalls at the hawker centre, they have been drawing snaking queues for their hokkien mee for over 40 years, and have even been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Queues were even up to an hour during the peak periods, causing Mr Toh to remove his Michelin Bib sticker to remain low-key! But of course, that did not stop his loyal following of customers from coming back.

After helming the stall for over four decades, Mr Toh has decided to retire, partly due to his age catching up. Sadly, he was unable to find someone to take over the stall and his children were not willing to take over as well.

Though we are sad to see the stall go, we thank Mr Toh for all his hard work over the last 40 years and we wish him a blissful retirement!
