If you’ve been to Orchard Central lately, you may have noticed some conspicuous hoarding with math symbols plastered all over it. This not-so-subtle branding seems to indicate that Equate Coffee is about to open its second outlet in central Singapore.

For those unfamiliar, Equate Coffee is a popular cafe in Tanjong Pagar Plaza that’s known for its delicious house blend and filter roast coffee. They also have some pastries that look great for the ‘gram and, according to most, taste pretty good, too.
Equate Coffee is also known for its sleek, minimalist interior, so we can expect this new Orchard Central outlet to have a similar aesthetic. To cafe hoppers who are always hanging around Somerset, this should come as great news.

Whether your coffee of choice is Black (from $4.50), White (from $5), or Mocha (from $5.50), you’re getting a cup that’s well-balanced and full of aroma. Those who prefer their coffee to have a less acidic flavour should go for the Cold Brew (from $6.50), which has black and white options.

Equate doesn’t just offer espresso-based coffee, though. There’s Kopi (from $2.50) and Kopi O (from $2) for those who prefer stronger, more gao coffee.

As for pastries, Equate are known for their Canele ($4 each), a French pastry with a caramelized outer layer, and vanilla bean and rum on the inside. With its crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside texture and rich flavour, it pairs really well with your cup of coffee.
