Seminyak
1. Kim Soo
Kim Soo is one of the more novel cafes in Bali, for it is both a lifestyle boutique and a dining destination. The space is replete with photo-worthy spots, from black-and-white backdrops to a turquoise splash pool you can pose at if you’re looking to nab that OOTD shot. It’s also worth looking at the different knick-knacks and pieces the cafe has available, because you might find something you’re interested in bringing home.
The cafe itself offers classic brunch dishes with a bit of a French twist, and house-made cakes. We particularly enjoyed their Triple Cheese Toastie (IDR75K++/~S$6.81++), a huge grilled cheese sandwich packed with three types of cheese: melted cheddar, mozzarella, and Swiss cheese. For dessert, get your hands on their Dulce de Leche Cheesecake (IDR40K++/~S$3.63++) if it’s available. The rich cheesecake batter is laced with dulce de leche, but is not overly cloying.

2. Kynd Community
If you’re looking for Bali cafes on social media, you’ll definitely come across Kynd Community. The Instagram darling is known for its pink decor, but also for being one of the best places for vegan food in Bali.
At their Seminyak outlet, you can dine in their spacious alfresco area, or indoors amongst their pink tropical decor. The cafe isn’t all looks though—they deliver equally on the flavour front too. Get their Creamy Tan Tan Ramen (IDR90K++/~S$8.21++), made with ramen noodles, mixed greens, enoki, and mock minced pork, if you’re craving something spicy, or their Smoked Bacon Gnocchi (IDR95K++/~S$8.66++), for a twist on an Italian classic that hits the spot. Aside from their dishes, Kynd Community also has a selection of refreshing juices, spritzers, and coffees on the menu too.
FYI: There’s also another outlet in Canggu.

If you’re swinging by for breakfast, try their Chocolate Brioche French Toast (IDR110K++/~S$9.95++), topped with a rich chocolate sauce, chocolate soil, and bruleed bananas. For savoury mains, dig into the likes of their Chilli Cheese Scrambled Eggs (IDR100K++/~S$9.05++), or their Sticky Nam Jim Pork Belly (IDR110K++/~S$9.95++) if you’re there for lunch. Aside from mains, the eatery also has a selection of refreshing acai and smoothie bowls available.

If you’re here for breakfast, we highly recommend their Ricotta Pancake Stack (IDR80K++/~S$7.25++), served with caramelised bananas and vanilla gelato, for something sweet, or their Shelter Big Breakfast (IDR130K++/~S$11.80++), a savoury platter with all the usual English breakfast trimmings, with the addition of lamb kofta and portobello mushrooms.

Other classics, such as mee goreng and nasi goreng are available too. CIRCLE also prides themselves on being a work-friendly cafe, with fast fibre optic WiFi if you’d like to remote work there.

Their bestselling White Chocolate Croissant (IDR35K/~S$3.13) is a must-try. The croaky croissant is filled with vanilla bean custard, chocolate cream and strawberry cream. Else, get the Matcha Croissant (IDR28K/~S$2.51), packed with a dense matcha custard.

Their menu is broadly split into breakfast, toasties, superfood bowls, smoothie bowls, and chia puddings. On the drinks front, expect a lengthy list of juices, smoothies, and health beverages, like kombucha and jamu. Try the Avo Pancakes (IDR80K/~S$7.17), a stack of avocado pancakes garnished with fresh fruit, chocolate gelato, and with maple syrup. For something savoury, there’s the Spicy Mash (IDR50K/~S$4.48), where smashed avocado on sourdough toast is elevated with mushrooms. Canggu’s cafe scene is full of gems that surprise. One of these is Bokashi, a two-storey cafe and gourmet grocery store, decorated to look like a Japanese teahouse. The vibes are immaculate here, especially on the second floor, where diners can enjoy their drinks and food sitting on tatami mats.
If you’re much more of a tea person, you’ll be pleased to know that Bokashi offers a broad range of single-origin Indonesian teas, sourced from the region’s highland plantations. Pair that with their selection of farm-to-table mains, of which we particularly enjoyed their Chilled Soba Noodles (IDR75K/~S$6.75).

Sari Kitchen is one of our favourite Bali cafes to work from. The open-air dining destination in Canggu spans three floors and is plotted with a variety of different seating configurations, ranging from long tables to couches, and even reading nooks. The cafe is also wallet-friendly, with brunch sets from only IDR50K (~S$4.50). The menu is very comprehensive, offering everything from burgers to pasta, and Japanese-inspired rice bowls, even tacos. While the eatery offers both Indonesian and Western bites, we suggest zooming in on the former. Their Nasi Goreng Ijo (IDR45K/~S$4.20) is one we’d recommend. Their nasi goreng sees rice wok-fried in a kaffir lime and candlenut paste so it’s extra-fragrant, then topped with pickles and a sunny-side up. The Gado Gado (IDR40K/~S$3.60) is another classic, a true-blue Indonesian salad with a myriad of raw and cooked veggies, tofu, and a moreish peanut sauce.
