Oyster Omelette is a comfort food most of us enjoy eating. Crispy egg mixed with starchy flour bits, topped with fresh and juicy oysters. Who can say no to that! With popular places like Hup Kee Fried Oyster Omelette and Lim Fried Oyster, where else can you for a scrumptious Oyster Omelette? Why that’s Hougang Oyster Omelette & Fried Kway Teow of course. Tucked away at Hougang lies this stall where they have been serving up their legendary Oyster Omelettes for the last 15 years!

The stall is currently run by husband-and-wife duo, Mr Ong and Mdm Lim. They first started serving Oyster Omelette and Char Kway Teow over 32 years ago at a pasar malam stall and have not stopped since. They first started their own stall at Blk 10 Hougang Avenue 7 before relocating to their current one around 15 years ago. Fun fact, they each take charge of one dish! Mr Ong handles the Oyster Omelette while Mdm Lim cooks the Char Kway Teow. This ensures every dish is cooked by the individual masters!

Their Oyster Omelette ($5.50) here is definitely a must-try! Mr Ong fries the egg with heavenly pork lard, giving it a ton of flavour. Additionally, it isn’t too oily and adds the perfect amount of crunch to the dish. The egg is super crispy and when eaten with the pork lard, it’s simply divine.

The highlight of the dish is no doubt the oysters! A generous amount of fresh and huge oysters are served, perfect for all you oyster lovers. The oysters are creamy and go perfectly with the egg and pork lard for a symphony of flavours and textures with every bite.
Their homemade chilli sauce is also another must-try! The sauce is made from scratch using fresh chillies instead of using store-bought chilli paste. It has a slight tang and garlic flavour to it, adding another dimension of flavour to the oyster omelette.
One unique item they also serve is Prawn Omelette, something you don’t usually find at Oyster Omelette stalls. For those who aren’t fans of oysters, this dish is more up your alley. The prawns are fresh and juicy, adding a nice touch of sweetness to the dish. A pretty good dish overall!
Hurry Down And Try Them Today!
Besides their Oyster and Prawn Omelette, the stall also serves a tasty Char Kway Teow that you should definitely check out. It is said that Mr Ong won’t be doing this for much longer so hurry and try out his Oyster Omelette before he retires. Hurry down and try it today!
